We are delighted to announce that our total fundraising total for our 2020 charity of the year, Basingstoke NeighbourCare has been finalised and stands at £7,259.33! We are really pleased to have raised this amount in such a difficult year and a massive thanks to all who took part in the Golf Day, the egg sales, the dress downs and all our other charity activities.
NeighbourCare continue to offer an amazing service, currently ensuring their customers get to vaccine appointments and their telephone ‘Befrienders’ offering crucial support to vulnerable people isolating. If you can help them in anyway please do.
We move onto 2021 and we will be supporting The Blue Space this year.
The Blue Space is the male section of The Pink Place Cancer Charity- which was our chosen charity back in 2015!- and provides well-being services, complementary therapies, support and counselling to men affected by cancer living in Basingstoke and the surrounding areas, they also able to offer support for men whose partner has been affected by cancer and for those men who have lost their partner to cancer. Since COVID-19 began, their town centre premises have been closed, so they have been offering a selection of virtual services with the aim of ensuring there is still support, information and counselling available to men during this time. These desperate times have been difficult for everyone but for those with a cancer diagnosis, the feelings of anxiety, fear and isolation are even more challenging and their aim is to work to combat those pressures.
Our plans for this year include the normal office activities, our 4th annual golf day and a team skydive! We look forward to raising as much as we can for 2021!!!!
