We are delighted to confirm that we welcomed 72 friends and industry colleagues to Sandford Springs on Thursday 15th October for our 3rd annual charity golf day.
The weather was kind to us and we enjoyed one of the local areas best courses in stunning (if not a little chilly conditions). All 18 teams started in a ‘Shotgun’ format at 09.30 and proceeded to take part in the team competition. The event was very close with 2 teams scoring a respectable 89 points. The winners (by way of countback) were Oakley Windows who narrowly saw off the challenge of local planning consultants, Bell Cornwell. There were several individual prizes with players taking home a longest drive and nearest the pin as well as nearest in 2 on the short par 4 17th.
Lots of pre-planning went into making sure that we could host such an event whilst maintaining adherence with all current guidelines and we were ably supported by all the staff at Sandford in achieving this. Groups of 4 sat at 2m distances from all other groups, face coverings, track and trace and no physical presentations of awards were just a few of the changes to make the event COVID safe. We have received numerous messages since last week thanking us for making the event so relaxed and well run despite the current ways of the world!
Most importantly…. thanks to the generosity of all our players we topped up the charity pot on the day with over £13o0 from the raffle which is fantastic. We were also supported by several local companies through sponsorship and prize donation. Special thanks to HR that Helps, Pennyhill Timber, Buildbase Basingstoke, Cotton Graphics and many more.
We are delighted to announce that the final total to go towards our annual fundraising for Basingstoke Neighbourcare was £5,055.40!!!
We look forward to (hopefully) a more normal golf day next year supporting our 2021 Charity!
